A Boy and his Dog

I just love how this painting turned out! I'm really happy with the subtle words, "A Boy and his Dog." I was working on it right down to the wire, but wanted to put all of my energy into getting it finished before Father's Day. Although my client was very open about delivery date, I knew that this would be an awesome Father's Day present for her husband.

Her reaction, when I gave it to her was exactly the reason why I do commissions in the first place. That surprise and joy and happiness when someone just totally loves your work. How she looked me in the eyes and said that this would be treasured in their family, and how that made me think of the little boy growing up and remembering this painting as a part of their life. It was just happy Love Vibes back and forth of her loving the painting and me loving that she loves the painting. I only wish I could have been a fly on the wall when her hubs and son saw it.  Happy Day!
