I am...

I tuned into Oprah's Super Soul Sunday last week and caught her interview with Wayne Dyer.  He has a new book out called Wishes Fulfilled.  In it, he talks about the concept of manifesting using the phrase, I AM.  Using this phrase as opposed to I WANT or I HOPE will put you in the mindset of the NOW...as in you are already that, not something you will be, do, or have in the future.
For example:
I AM A LOVELY BEACH HOUSE IN MAUI.
Easy Peasy!

Coincidentally, the subject of I Am has recently been explored with my creative group, Soulfully Now, and it has inspired me to create some affirmation cards (ArtFirmations!)  related to this I AM concept.

I AM CONNECTED

I am connected to the Ocean. I am connected to the Moon. I am connected to Turtles. I am connected to my Source. I am connected to You!

Last Day of School

It's hard to believe, but it's true...today is my daughter's last day of 3rd grade!
Above is a little painting I did for her wonderful teacher, Mrs. McCarthy (who loves monkeys!)

In Memory of Adam Yauch

A week ago today, Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys died after a long battle with cancer. He was a musical genius...a creative spirit to the core. I could write a whole post on how much love I have for them, but I don't want to end up weeping in a puddle of tears. I've been listening to The Beasties as I ride around town and as I work in the studio this week, and my heart is full of sorrow. But also filled with GRATITUDE, that I got to see them LIVE.  They still hold the crowns for best concert EVER, and I've seen a LOT.  The world has lost one of it's avengers.

If all you know of the Beastie Boys is Licensed to Ill, please do yourself a huge solid and check out some of their other albums...Sounds of Science, Hello Nasty,  To the 5 Boroughs...the layers, the lyrics, the depth...Adam, you left this world filled with more LOVE than it had before you got here. You can't ask for much more than that.

A Grateful Heart...

"the beauty of each day begins with a grateful heart"

I am grateful for all the busy-ness in my life right now, even if it keeps me away from the blog-o-sphere for longer than I'd like. There are many projects that I am involved with like painting a Pop Up Piano and the 10-10-10 project. Plus all of the end of the year activities/volunteering at my daughter's school...getting ready for summer!
ART has been keeping me sane!  Above is a birthday gift I painted for a friend. I'm going to do some more work on these "Artfirmations"  (artistic affirmations). I wholeheartedly think that life flows much smoother when you sprinkle it with positive thoughts!
