Whew...glad that's done.

I hope I've finally learned my lesson this time about waiting until the last minute to start things...especially big projects that require a lot of time. Especially projects that I actually would have enjoyed much more if I started earlier. I have all the excuses in place because I really was working on other projects with their own due dates, but the reality is that I could have started sooner, with a little sketch here and a little sketch there. 10 minutes before bed or 30 minutes while sitting in front of the boob tube.
Well, it's done, my sketchbook is off to Brooklyn. After a fitful struggle with my scanner this morning and me rolling my eyes towards the heavens questioning, "why, why, why?" (I know the reason why...see lesson about not waiting until the last minute to start!) I made the extended deadline. It's not a masterpeice, but some good ideas were rolled around and some good sketches were made, and I realized that I really do like sketching. It's  fun. I remember now.

I'll post more later on how you can view or follow my book as it tours the country as part of The Sketchbook Project and finally when it lands in The Brooklyn Library of Art, how you can Check It Out!

It might come true...

I have a tank top that has these words written on it...
Make a Wish, It Might Come True.
Leila and I were checking it out this morning and it just dawned on me that the Universe might be talking to Me.
So today's wish prompt from Jaime of Wishcasting Wednesday is...
"What Do You Wish to Renew?"

I have just embarked on a journey with the Brave Girls to restore my soul (see previous post). Along with that I want to renew my body, my spirit, my zest for life! I want my body and soul to bounce around and through this life I cherish. Not feel sluggish and tired and always out of time.
I wish to renew my belief in myself...that I can create my dream life! I think all of this will begin to align as I begin my
soul restoration.
I wish to renew my true self...successful, creative, fit, happy, soulful!!

I AM READY....

My Soul Kit, to carry my supplies, journals, and curriculum for Brave Girls Camp

The last week or so has been a blur, one where I was feeling drained, off balance, and so far behind. I don't even want to think of it. I'm happy to say that I am feeling almost 100% myself again and if the last 2 days are an indication of what lies ahead, I am in for one fun ride. In a nutshell, I've spent the last 2 days in the FLOW.

Yesterday, my daughter went back to school and I had a full day to play catch up...and catch up I did. I am a big fan of list-making, and I just love the feeling of checking things off the list, especially when I have spent a significant amount of time NOT checking things off the list. Just a few of the things I accomplished include: Working out, coloring hair, bank, bookstore, groceries, craft supply shopping, laundry, reading, and working on my sketchbook. Whew. A lot.

And today, more of the same...smooth sailing. Plus today is the start of Soul Restoration and I am so excited and just feel...ready.

Here are some of the supplies that I've gathered for the course. So much fun in store for my soul!

And a little reminder I made for myself as I go about my restoration...using my word for the year...

What Do You Wish to Say Yes to?

It's the first Wishcasting Wednesday of the year! Today, Jamie asks the above question. My answer is simple....I wish to say "Yes"
to
Starting.

You see, I've had a cold for more than a few days and it has left me drained and aching from coughing so much! I am on the rise, so I know it will be over soon, but I am left feeling a bit unmotivated, unhealthy, and just plain UNDONE!

So, today, I wish to say YES to just Starting.

I have so much great stuff to work on...art journal pages, getting my kit ready for Soul Restoration, my Sketchbook, and all the other ideas that have been waiting patiently for this bug to take its course.

I want to say a HUGE thank you, in between coughs, to all of you who have visited me in the past week or so. Each word I read is encouraging and feels like pure, wonderful energy pulling me back to the land of the creative living. I am grateful for your comments.
Today, I say YES!
