My word of the year...SIMPLIFY

By now, I'm pretty sure that everyone knows about picking a "word for the year", a word of your choosing that will guide you or define what this year is going to be about for you. Well, I picked the word SIMPLIFY. I picked a word that I am really, really going to have to work with in order to feel its guidance.  Let me show you what I mean. It is February 27, 2014, as in by the end of the weekend, we will be whispering "Rabbit, rabbit" and welcoming the 3rd month of the year. Here is what I currently have on my creative life plate:

Wrapping up Right Brain Business Plan mentorship with Jennifer Lee
Life Book 2014 with Tamara LaPorte
Wild Surrender with Mindy Lacefield
Beta participant in The Artist Blueprint Plan with Natasha Wescoat
Desire Map Book Club Leader
Poets and Painters, a local art and word group I'm a part of
Poster Artist for The Doggie Art Festival coming up in April
Art Workshop planning for Funky Trunk Treasures in Deland and The Craft Shack in Longwood
Creating an online video workshop - Embrace you Inner Mermaid!
Bookkeeping classes
Writing and illustrating my creative inspiration book, Listen to Your Inklings

All of this is on top of creating new work and commissions.

In the words of the wise Henry David Thoreau:

"Our life is frittered away by detail. Simplify, simplify, simplify! I say, let your affairs be as two or three, and not a hundred or a thousand; instead of a million count half a dozen, and keep your accounts on your thumb-nail."

Simplify, simplify, simplify!  Lucy, I have some re-assessing to do!

  1. Love your word and your outlook, think it's a great one that would suite me at the moment as well.
