Tag Sale Booty... it's all in the walk

The forecast for today in sunny Florida is for the needle to hit 90 degrees!  Our Spring has sprung, and now we can only hope for a few more days of breezy perfectness before the grueling heat of a Florida summer sets in.
People are into their spring cleaning full swing, and lots of neighborhoods around here are holding community sales.  Just find a spot to park and start walking!
So much goodness in a concentrated area!  Not to mention, the savings on GAS!
So Exciting!
(I'm a garage sale geek! EEP, i can't help it!)
Here's a sample of the treasures I found on this trip.

Aren't these little chairs the cutest?
They are from a little schoolhouse in New York, where the seller's grandfather had been a teacher. Then they were passed down the generations to her son.
I love the story behind them and I knew right away they would be perfect for a wall display, as above. I think I'm going to paint one and keep the other one natural to use for photo props.

And check out these raw wood items I found.
Petit shadow boxes just longing to tell stories of their own.
My mind is racing with ideas of what to put in them! And the other piece...hmmm, I don't know if it is a tray or what, but I do know that it can be painted and/or collaged, and has a nice deep lip on it, so it can support items as well. In the middle is a gorgeous dark brown wood heart...originally a necklace, that I see dangling in the middle somehow....I'm picturing the heart in the middle of some woods...
These are perfect finds for me as I am going through quite the phase of painting on wood rather than canvas right now.

If you think yard sales are just other people's junk, THINK AGAIN!  They are great places to find inspiration AND art supplies! Schedule an artist date for yourself and spend the morning tag saling, and the afternoon creating something out of what you found. (I'd love to see what you make!)
It's a great way to get your creative juices flowing!

Aloha, Friends!

What Do You Wish to Invite In?

I stumbled across this great blog that is just so positive and affirmative and inspiring. Check it out if you need a dose of goodness. And who doesn't? A recent prompt asks What Do You Wish to Invite In?

I am a firm believer in manifesting and creating and wishing and visualizing. I am realizing now that sometimes I have a little trouble in the allowing and receiving end of things. But, I AM a believer. I have experienced enough synchronicity in my life to KNOW. There is no doubt about it. I just need to get out of my own way sometimes. I ask the Universe for help with that. To remove from me whatever is blocking me from allowing. My current mantra is "I am ready to recieve." I am ready to recieve and hold on to it and experience the joy that was meant to be experienced from recieving." I am ready to recieve.

So what do I wish to invite in? At this moment in time I wish to invite in an abundance of money from an easy source. I have been reading Virginia Woolf's lecture "A Room of One's Own" and I highly recommend it to any woman creative. Basically, she says that to be creative one needs a space of their own and some money to do it. I find myself focusing on the making of money to maintain the lifestyle I want to live and sacrificing my creativity to do it. (And by lifestyle, I don't mean things and stuff. I have turned the corner on that path. I mean a home that I love and time with my family. I mean enough breathing room to soak in all the daily miracles around me.) I know that this will not always be the case. I know that there is an ebb and flow to life's experiences. I am just so ready for the flow. My heart is longing for some real "time" in the studio. Not just a few bleary-eyed stolen moments here and there, trying to catch all of the ideas I have swimming in my head.

I wish to invite in an abundance of money! I am ready to recieve freely. I am ready to give freely.
*An interesting thing happened today: While talking to my friend on the phone today about our financial issues, the doorbell rang. It was a couple of churchies. I stepped outside and they said where they were having their service and asked if I had anything to pray about. Why, yes! I do! I need a prayer for financial gain. So they said a prayer of multitude upon whatever I had in mind. It was quick and simple and heartfelt. I said "thank you" and that was it. No hardcore questions about faith and religion. Just do ya need a prayer, well, here it is. Nice. Hmmmm. Thank You.

Believe in Possibility

I am going through a phase of clarifying and defining what kind of life I want to create from here forward. Yes, of course, I want to be HAPPY!! I generally AM happy now, but what do I really want my life to look like. What do I want to experience on a day-to-day basis. So, after I get clear on what, then the hard part begins. Believing. Believing in myself enough to allow what I truly want to come into my life. Believing that I am good enough. Believing that I can create the life of my dreams. Believing that it is possible. It's much easier said that done. I have bursts of knowing, when it all just clicks and feels right. And also the sneaky moments of doubt that creep in and can set you back a day, or a week. I guess it all boils down to faith. I know that my deepest desires didn't appear in my heart only to stay there unfulfilled. I know that a desire fulfilled simply adds joy to the world. And we all know the world needs more joy. Believe. Have Faith. Dreams Do Come True.
